substantial, enameled thick topI have already the white enamel and chrome writing desk from Safavieh and this compliments that nicely, both in my bedroom, I don t have a headboard and the bed is in the middle of the room, so this sofa table is my answer. It is the PERFECT fit for a Queen sized mattress, see picture. The instructions say it takes 5 minutes to assemble, it took about 15 minutes for my 60-years old arthritic hands with carpal tunnel problems to get the 8 bolts sufficiently tightened. The 4 legs just get bolted in with 2 nice big bolts each, but the lower one is a bear, and the hex wrench provided is wimpy. I finally recalled I have a 2-sided hex wrench shaped like a Z that gives great leverage and fits better into tight places. THAT got them tightened to make the legs not wobble hardly at all.
