Updated because they no longer remain at barstool height - don t waster your moneyUpdate, 12 20 19 I have only used one stool frequently and the other one hardly ever. I never adjusted the height after I place in the barstool height. Worked fine until last week when I sat on one of the stools and and it 10 minutes it had decompressed to about cocktail table height - I switched it out with the infrequently used one and the same thing happened. If you only need a stool for a year or less buy this one otherwise I would not recommend these stools
